The Stillwater Trail Crew was organized in 2015 in an effort to unify all trail maintenance and development in the Stillwater area. Beginning with a new trail system at Lake Carl Blackwell, west of Stillwater, the STC hopes develop miles of both wilderness and urban multi-use trails around Payne County.

In 2016, STC began sponsoring a mountain bike racing team and added The Blackwell Beat down to the Tour de Dirt race series.
​
Distance varies by age/category, but includes 4-6 year old, 7-9 year old, 10-12 year old, and a training wheels category.
